Disability discrimination

| The almshouses are in 3 blocks of flats, built on the side of a hill. The higher and lower blocks are accessed by slopes and steps (outside) and stairs (inside). The steepest slopes are public highways and the internal stairs are too narrow to allow retro-fitting of stair-lifts. The middle block is the only one served by a lift and most vacancies are filled by existing residents moving because of reduced mobility with increasing years. There is very limited level-access accommodation for couples. Does anyone have a policy on admission of disabled applicants which is non-discriminatory, please? Thank you! |
